At The SEA People, we believe in honesty and transparency.<\/strong> Our reef restoration and conservation effort, through Yaf Keru<\/a>, is rooted in sharing the full story\u2014successes, challenges, and even the moments when things didn\u2019t go as planned.<\/strong> <\/span><\/p>\n Over the years, we\u2019ve refined our restoration techniques based on experience and observation, striving to optimise our chances of success. The truth is, <\/span>just like any garden on land or any natural process, the unexpected can happen, and no single technique guarantees perfection and success 100% of the time. <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n Yaf Keru\u2019s approach to measuring restoration impact reflects this honesty.\u00a0 Every square meter stabilised or restored is recorded as exactly that – no extrapolated estimates or inflated claims. While this method often underestimates the broader impact (such as natural coral recruitment or stabilisation between restored areas, as well as avoided loss), it ensures that our metrics are direct, verifiable, and transparently shared with our community, funders, partners, and stakeholders. This commitment to integrity helps us avoid \u201cgreenwashing\u201d and maintain trust in our work.<\/span><\/p>\n To bring this transparency to life, we\u2019ve created the Yaf Keru Interactive Map. This tool is our way of sharing the real story of Yaf Keru – its scale, impact, and evolution… in real time.\u00a0 It presents our results as they happen, unfiltered and honest. The map also publicly acknowledges those who support our efforts and provides a way for those who have transplanted corals with us to track the results of their contributions, no matter where they are in the world.<\/span><\/p>\n The information on this map comes from regular monitoring dives conducted by our team. During these dives, we measure and document multiple metrics, including taking photos of set points, and uploading them to the map with detailed descriptions. The map allows you to see the evolution of any restoration site\u2014or even specific points within a site\u2014over time.<\/span><\/p>\n We invite you to ‘dive in’\u00a0and explore.
